Courage

I see you sitting there all alone.

I feel the air around me start to change.

I try to still my nerves as I try to think of how to approach her.

I stand up and take the first step.

As I get closer my entire body starts to shake, my face starts to heat up, I start to recall the feeling of humiliation and embarrassment.

Then I stand in front of her I let the words come out, my voice is shaky, the words just keep flowing out, I don’t know what to do with my hands or where to look.

But after looking at her face and seeing her smile, even after we part ways, my spirits feel lifted, my day seems brighter and I feel ready to face the world.

And I feel that one day we will meet again.
